Ce mois-ci, Nous allons vous faire découvrir le Collectif M Base.
Le collectif M-Base (acronyme de Macro-Basic Array of Structured Extemporizations) est un mouvement musical et intellectuel né au milieu des années 1980 à New York, principalement autour du saxophoniste Steve Coleman. M-Base n’est pas un genre musical à proprement parler, mais plutôt une philosophie artistique qui cherche à explorer de nouvelles façons de structurer la musique, en particulier le jazOrigines Le mouvement a été initié par un noyau de jeunes musiciens afro-américains très créatifs, dont notamment :
